Situado junto ao histórico Forte de Paimogo, na Lourinhã, este projeto consiste na reconstrução integral de uma ruína com 1064 m², transformando uma antiga habitação num destino contemporâneo de alojamento e gastronomia. A resposta arquitetónica respeita a memória da implantação original, criando uma composição linear de piso único que se desenvolve em torno de um pátio central, estabelecendo o diálogo entre o edificado e a paisagem agrícola envolvente. O volume caracteriza-se por uma dualidade formal: uma fachada sul sólida e enigmática, que evoca proteção e clausura, contrastando com um perímetro a norte e poente marcado pela transparência, onde grandes vãos envidraçados emolduram o horizonte rural.

A intervenção é desenvolvida numa abordagem shell and core, focando-se numa envolvente estrutural de elevado desempenho em betão armado e bloco térmico com acabamento a reboco de cal, respeitando o vernáculo regional enquanto garante a eficiência térmica contemporânea. Esta estrutura alberga oito suítes e um restaurante com vinte e oito lugares com cozinha aberta, desenhados para se adaptarem naturalmente à topografia ascendente do terreno. Para responder à sua localização isolada, o projeto foi dotado de autonomia infraestrutural, incorporando sistemas próprios de abastecimento de água, energia e tratamento de resíduos. O resultado é um marco técnico refinado que restitui a importância histórica ao local através de um desenho limpo e integrado, funcionando como um observador silencioso da paisagem atlântica.

Set near the historic Fort of Paimogo in Lourinhã, this project involves the comprehensive reconstruction of a 1,064-square-meter ruin, transforming a former farmhouse into a contemporary destination for hospitality and gastronomy. The architectural response follows the memory of the original footprint, creating a single-story linear composition that meanders around a central courtyard, establishing a strong dialogue between the built structure and the surrounding agricultural landscape. The volume is defined by a contrasting character: a solid, enigmatic southern facade that provides a sense of fort-like protection and enclosure, contrasted with transparent northern and western elevations that use expansive glazing to frame the rural landscape and the Atlantic Ocean on the horizon.

The intervention is developed through a shell-and-core approach, focusing on a high-performance envelope of reinforced concrete and thermal blocks finished with textured lime plaster, respecting the regional vernacular tradition while ensuring thermal efficiency. This complex accommodates eight guest suites and a twenty-eight-seat restaurant with an open kitchen, distributed across several volumes that are naturally integrated into the site's pronounced topography. To respond to its isolated location, the project is engineered for complete infrastructural autonomy, incorporating private water, energy, and wastewater treatment systems. The result is a technically refined landmark that restores the historical significance of the site through a clean, integrated design, serving as a quiet observer of the Atlantic coastline.
